If you or a loved one notice these symptoms persistently (over 6 months), consult a doctor:
- Frequent forgetfulness: Names, appointments, repetition of questions, difficulty managing medication(s).
- Difficulty planning: Recipes, budgeting, using everyday objects.
- Speech difficulties: Searching for words, confusing sentences.
- Disorientation: Getting lost in a familiar place, confusion over dates.
- Impaired judgment: Excessive spending, neglect of hygiene.
- Isolation: Abandonment of favorite activities or social contacts.
- Mood changes: Anxiety, aggressiveness, sudden apathy.
- Visual problems: Difficulty reading, judging distances.
Consult if:
- Several of the above symptoms worsen.
- Safety or daily life is impacted (e.g. driving, household chores).
Important : These signs may have other causes (depression, vitamin deficiencies, etc.). Only a doctor (neurologist, geriatrician) can confirm a diagnosis through tests and examinations (MRI). Early diagnosis means better care.
➔ Tip : When in doubt, talk to your doctor for advice that’s right for you.
