Our research projects have all been approved by Health Canada as well as an independent ethics board. Over the past 20 years, our team has worked with more than 35 scientific partners from academia and numerous biotechnology companies. Our ambition is to always be at the forefront of biomedical research on Alzheimer’s disease.

The Memory Clinic has a long-standing commitment to improving treatments for Alzheimer’s Disease. Our efforts focus on clinical research studies while fostering key partnerships both within the academic and pharmaceutical industry. At the Memory Clinic, we pride ourselves in collecting high quality information to further scientific research. We foster relationships with our communities and act as a resource for information for caregivers and patients alike.
We strive to provide a welcoming and calm environment for our patients and their caregivers. Our secure facility has dedicated and private rooms for patient evaluations, examinations, patient procedures, laboratory sample preparation, and an on-site pharmacy space to assist our team in preparing the needed products for our clinical trials. All research equipment is routinely calibrated and investigational products are monitored daily to follow outlined specifications in terms of storage and temperature requirements.
We integrate state-of-the-art technologies to ensure that we provide the best experiences and results in all research programs. Adherence to a fully electronic research management system (eSource, eRegulatory, etc.) provides our partners with real-time access to study data.
Each research team member must complete Good Clinical Practice training. In addition to this, our team has completed Health Canada Division 5 training (Part C, Division 5 of the Food and Drug Regulations “Drugs for clinical trials involving human subjects” GUI-0100). To ensure that our team members act in a standardized way and that procedures follow well-established clinic guidelines, each staff member is trained on our clinic’s Standard Operating Procedures. This ensures a concerted way of working across clinics and within teams.
The organization’s code of ethics reflects its values and recognizes the right of every person to receive adequate health care services in a safe and personalized manner. By virtue of this recognition, team members are committed to respecting patients’ rights and providing quality care.
